Rev A Basic has a minor bug which almost never caused problems. Rev B. was shipped in the XL Computers fixed that bug but introduced a new bug which was much worse than the one it fixed. Rev C has no know bugs. When you plug a Basic cartridge into A computer with built in Basic the cartridge replaces the internal Basic.
