vintage Intel MCS-85 evaluation kit 1976 - fully functional
Price: US $450.00
This is an Intel MCS-85 Evaluation system with plexiglass top. It is fully functional. I know the feet came with it originally but don't recall if the plexiglass did or that was custom made. I have not seen one for sale with a plexiglass top.The user manual is available online from Intel and I have the PDF file for it. I have entered example programs to check out the keypad and program the PCB and it is still functional. Some parts of the kit were not assembled like the bus expanders for some reason. I do not have those parts. What you see is what you get. The power is wired in with a black and red banana jack that can be plugged into any bench power-supply. Set the P/S to 5V and you will need about 400ma.
The RED LED lens on this is cloudy. It looks like the adhesive has clouded along the upper and lower part of the LED bezel so i took that off for pictures. I think there is one rubber foot in tact. I put additional standoffs on bottom so keys could be pressed for entering the program. It deserves a good home and I'm sure you will fix that up. I have a video of me entering the program if there is any doubt to the functionality, but its not uploading at the moment.
Its how things worked in those days we entered programs by hand in hexadecimal. Great piece for a collection or computer history museum.
