Each adapter passes power through, so the outlet it occupies stays usable, and the built-in noise filter stops whatever you plug into it from degrading the link. Two gigabit ports per adapter means you can feed a switch, a console and a TV off one end without adding another box.

ON THE AV2000 NAME2000 is the marketing class, not a throughput rating. Zyxel's own datasheet rates the PLA5456 at 1800 Mbps. Actual speed depends on your wiring, the run length and the circuit layout, and two adapters on different breaker legs will always be slower than two on the same leg.
