YAMAHA MSX YIS503 BASIC operation confirmed, connection cable included, vintageDescriptionDefinitely authentic.
This is the original YAMAHA MSX YIS503.It's an old item from about 40 years ago, so it has a bit of wear and tear appropriate to its age, but I think it's in pretty good condition considering its age. The original box is also included. The main body is mostly undamaged, but there are scratches on the paint on some corners.I connected it to a monitor, turned it on, and confirmed that BASIC was working.
The keyboard is in pretty good condition, although sometimes a key is unresponsive, but in that case you can just press it a little harder and it will input.
The power LED and Caps Lock LED on the keyboard also light up normally.We have not confirmed the operation of game cartridges or game controllers.
Considering that there is a solid video output, we believe there is a good chance that it will work properly, but we cannot guarantee it.I dug out a box from the storage shed and took out the contents, and for some reason the video cable was missing, so I made one myself.
The audio cable is stereo, but the output of the MSX is mono, so the same sound is input to the left and right.
We also confirmed that the beeps and key clicks were output normally.
The video cable is about 1.3m long. The original cassette I/F cable is available. It is about 1.0m long.I think it's rare to find a working item in such good condition.
We still have the original packaging, so we will wrap the item in bubble wrap on top of the original box to ensure safe shipping.Thank you.
