Galim ATP system was developed specifically for broadcasters, delivering a single box for netcast, FM, AM, TV or cable audio processing. As a completely digital product, Waves ATP provides clean flexible processing for all types of audio transmission. That same year the company also provided a set of real -time plug -in effectsfor the Mac and PC- compatible AP2424-bit PCI audio card from Tel Aviv - based Galim Signal Processing , with the plug -insbeing hosted by Waves' MultiRackapplication, which allowed multiplecards to he used in one machine.

WAVES AND GALIM TEAM UP TO INTRODUCE THE AP24 DSP AUDIO PROCESSOR RACK, A VIRTUAL RACK OF AUDIO PROCESSING IN REALTIME.

AES * New York - September 26, 1997- The newly formed Galim, Ltd. Signal Processing of Tel Aviv, Israel and Waves Ltd., the leading supplier of DSP software for the professional audio and multimedia markets, today announced the, AP24 DSP Audio Processor for both Windows and Macintosh PCI systems. The Galim AP24 PCI is a 24 bit audio card that comes with a select set of Waves DSP software plug-ins.

When the Waves Plug-Ins are run on the Galim AP24 PCI card the Plug-Ins run in realtime just like hardware processors. It makes for a beautiful marriage to provide the user with a single audio signal processing solution. Multiple processors may be run at the same time and the system may be expanded by adding more cards and Plug-Ins.

The AP24 DSP Audio Processor includes a select set of Waves Plug-ins including the Q10-Paragraphic Equalizer, World famous L1-Ultramaximizer, C1-Compressor/Gate, S1-Stereo Imager, TrueVerb, and the new PAZ-PsychoAcoustic. The host of the bundle is the Waves MultiRack application. MultiRack uses one or more DSP cards for realtime pass-through processing; each DSP can have more than one component Plug-In at the same time, such as EQ, compression and stereo imaging, all on a single chip. Complete Flex-chains (or patches) of Waves processors can be saved and loaded. A user may have multiple boards in one machine, with Waves MultiRack running in background with workstations, digital sequencers, or as outboard gear for digital mixers, mastering systems, and more.

System features:

  • Edit, save and recall complete patches in realtime
  • Automatic DSP resource management
  • Supports standard MIDI control surfaces
  • Two channels of I/O available for each card
  • A/B comparisons and bypass for each processor, plus global bypass
This configuration operates under Windows NT or 2000 and is intended to be installed on the host computer that runs the encoding software. Installing the MaxxStream PCI card is a plug-and-play process that requires less then thirty minutes.
MaxxStream interfaces seamlessly with your existing encoding software through its unique multi-driver support for standard Windows multimedia devices.
It is easy to increase MaxxStream's encoding power by installing additional PCI cards - the application automatically recognizes and controls multiple installed cards. The card can be sold separately for inclusion in a PC and comes included in the M100 and M200 systems
