Early, Classic Seagate hard drive — Seagate's very first IDE drive.
This is the high-speed version: "-1" indicates 28ms (vs standard 40ms).

• Originally purchased directly from Seagate distribution Oct 31, 1991 for our PC production.
• Removed by our service dept decades ago during a routine upgrade and has been in protected storage since.
• These drives had relatively little use — we had an aggressive upgrade program so most drives were upgraded after only 12 to 24 months. The removed drives have been stored undisturbed for decades.
• Booted right up after all these years. No stiction issue.
• Drive is quiet, no unusual noises.
• Drive has been fully wiped (to delete customer data) and reformatted.
• MS-DOS 6.22 freshly installed.
• Scandisk full surface scan shows zero errors (see screenshot).
• Chkdsk shows zero bad sectors (see screenshot).
• Should boot right up in any compatible system.
• In order to boot, the drive parameters must be set as formatted : CHS = 560/6/26.
  • 560/6/26 are the native CHS parameters and give the highest capacity.
  • Different CHS translation parameters can be used (ex. 733/7/17 or 1024/5/17), but will require reformatting.
• Clean, NEAR MINT condition.
