This is not an ordinary monitor. It has an ethernet port and also has built-in WiFi. This monitor runs a version of the Android operating system.
What can this monitor do? It can be connected to your network via ethernet cable or through WiFi. Then, utilizing the built-in operating system, it can search for and find any IP cameras on your network. Then, using the camera's User Name and Password, this monitor can then connect to and display that camera. Up to 16 cameras can be added for viewing right on the screen. No mouse or keyboard is required (though, at least a temporary mouse and keyboard connection are recommended for easy setup via the built-in USB ports). Monitor does come with a hand-held remote that can be used for setup.
This monitor is really "a kind of all-in-one computer with an operating system" that is built to display IP cameras that are on the SAME NETWORK as this monitor. It makes viewing your IP cameras very easy with only a network connection to the ViewZ-24ipm needed. As an analogy, you can think of this monitor as a giant android tablet (24" screen).
Again, the monitor does NOT require anything to view your IP cameras except power and a network connection (via ethernet or WiFi).
If you have IP cameras and are looking for a way to monitor those cameras without a complicated setup and lots of wires, then this monitor is what you need.
This monitor is brand new in the box. Never opened. Never used.
