The USG requires the UniFi Network Application to manage it (self hosted, Cloud Key, or a compatible UniFi console). Ubiquiti has classified the USG as end of life, so it no longer receives new feature development. It remains a reliable, fully functional gateway for home, home office, and small business networks. If you are building a brand new network and want the latest UniFi features, a current UniFi gateway is the better fit. If you need a dependable gateway for an existing UniFi setup at a fraction of the cost, this is it.
