This is a ZX81 +38 Mahjongg clone(and TS1000)engineered to fit the ZX81 and TS1000 case, with upgraded click style mechanical keyboard and connected using standard computer ribbon cable. Also, there is a joystick port added(and the case re-machined to allow for it), and an added blue LED power ON indicator under the top right of the keyboard overlay(as seen in the pictures). The PCB did away with the old troublesome ULA that overheats and burns up, in favor of all CMOS discrete logic, hence the unit runs very cool as it draws under 100ma. on 5 volts(less than a third of the old zx81 and TS1000 at near 340ma). The case has been refinished(painted), and the new mech. keyboard overlay was glued on with JBweld RTV silicone adhesive. It runs all the zx81 and TS1000/1500 programs with the added feature of the old ZX81/TS1000 ROM was replaced with a TS1500 ROM to make it auto loading when used with a TS1510 cartridge system(not included).The computer did away with the old analog RF modulator in favor of a composite output which boasts crystal clear high contrast video. It can be hooked up directly to a composite monitor/TV or through an AV2HDMI adapter(not included) to a modern HDMI input monitor/TV. The composite cable is directly connected to the PCB as well as the MIC and EAR phono cables. This unit is a real step up from the old 1k/2k ZX81/TS1000 computers in all aspects such as full 32k RAM, etc.The Mohjongg power supply called for use of a 5 volt 1 amp charger to run it, but I opted for use of a standard 9 volt 2 amp regulated power adapter(included) with the addition of a LM7805 5 volt 1.5 amp three pin analog regulator to give an extra layer of protection from spikes and overvoltage.It has been fully functionally tested with LOADing the 16K TS "Krazy Kong" software, as seen in the pictures.Information on where to find all the details for this Mahjongg clone as well as build instructions, parts list, parts placement and schematic will be included on the "specifications and Use" papers that will be included with the computer upon purchase.
