This unit has been upgraded from the factory 2GB to 8GB of DDR3 RAM — the
maximum the DS415+ single SODIMM slot will take. Confirmed in DSM as 8192 MB
(see photos). The extra memory makes a real difference if you run Docker,
virtual machines, Plex, or several packages at once, which the stock 2GB
struggles with.

PLEASE READ — HONEST DISCLOSURES

1. Intel Atom C2000 series. The DS415+ uses an Atom C2538, part of the
   Intel C2000 family affected by the AVR54 erratum, where the LPC clock
   signal can degrade over time and prevent the unit from booting. To be
   completely clear about this unit: it has never failed, has never shown
   any symptom, and has NOT had the preventative resistor modification
   performed. It boots and runs normally, as shown in the photos. I am
   disclosing this because it is a well-known characteristic of this model
   and you should buy it knowing about it. Sold as-is.
2. DSM 7.1.1 is the final version. Synology does not offer DSM 7.2 or
   later for this model, and it is past end-of-life for feature updates.
   It runs everything DSM 7.1 supports, but it will not receive new DSM
   versions.
3. This is a 2014 model in used condition. Specifically: scuffs on the top
   surface and a small scratch on the front panel. Otherwise clean. See
   photos — they show the actual unit you will receive.
