The stock base weighs in at 8.3 grams, and the new base is 3.0 grams for a weight reduction of 5.3 grams.
Installation is quite easy with a #1 Phillips screwdriver. There are only seven screws to remove.
In the event that you want to remove the modification it is completely reversible. The old base can simply be reinstalled and the mouse is back to original.
