four-d-pi-shop New Keyboard ZIF Socket for the BBC Micro
Description:
This is a listing for a NEW BBC Micro ZIF Socket.
The ZIF socket fits in the expansion slot on the left of the keyboard (often referred to as the "ashtray") and a flying lead goes to an internal ROM/EPROM socket on the motherboard. Watford did a similar design unit and its scarcity inspired us!
NB. Some BBC Micro's have tall capacitors near the ROM sockets which stops the header from being plugged in to the ROM socket. Please check yours is suitable before purchase. We have only seen the tall capacitors on Mk7 motherboards and even then on a minority of them. In the photos of the motherboards three of the the four are Issue 7 photos but only the right hand one has the tall capacitors.
