This is a somewhat rare model of the NEC PC-98 family of desktop PC's from the 80's, called the NEC PC-9801UV2.
I bought this model back in 2020 while I was trapped in Japan due to the pandemic. At the time, it powered on, displayed a picture, and accepted inputs from the keyboard I was using. Since then, I no longer have any means of verifying functionality, and I'm not even sure if the cables that I bundled with it are the right ones, so I will simply state with confidence that the unit doespower on.
