For sale is a Lenovo ThinkPad T61 laptop. This unit is a high-hour, worn example, but is in working condition and has a lot of life left to live. It takes a lot to kill an old ThinkPad! Please read the full description before purchasing.
Listing includes only the laptop. No charger is included.
Functionality Notes:The only functionality issue with this unit is that the left-click button under the trackpad has some broken clips, so it only activates when you press it dead-center. The left-click button for the trackpoint works perfectly. Aside from this, the unit is in perfect working condition. The main battery is an aftermarket replacement, which reports 100% health. I highly doubt this reading is accurate, since it already had the battery when I got the laptop, but it seems to be good for at least an hour of runtime based on my testing, probably more. NO guarantees though other than that it does hold a charge. I'm pretty sure the CMOS battery is dead. I also serviced the cooling system with new thermal paste, and cleaned the fan and heatsink.
Cosmetic Notes:This is a high-hour example. The trackpad and keyboard have wear (see photos). The hinges have a moderate amount of play, but are not too loose or too stiff. The laptop has scuffing and scratches consistent with its age. The rubber coating on the lid is not sticky. The display is a bit dim and yellowed (again, see photos). It is dimmer when running off of battery versus the charger (expected behavior on T61s). I installed a brand new genuine Lenovo TrackPoint cap prior to listing.
The laptop has the factory install of Windows Vista Home Premium (32-bit) which was clean restored from the hard drive's recovery partition. The hard disk has 30,000 hours but reports as healthy with no bad sectors.
