Original Intel D4002-1 4002-series RAM chip for the historic MCS-4 family.

The Intel 4002 was part of the original MCS-4 chipset and was designed to work together with the Intel 4004 microprocessor and other MCS-4 devices.

The 4002 provides 320-bit MOS RAM (80 × 4-bit) with a 4-bit output port.

This is the D4002-1 version in the Type D grey ceramic package with tin-plated leads. D4002-1 examples are considerably less commonly encountered than the later plastic 4002 variants and are of particular interest to collectors of early Intel MCS-4 components.
