The Intel D3628A-1 is an 8K-bit (1024 x 8) bipolar fusible-link PROM from Intel Corporation. It features the fastest "-1" speed grade in the 3628A family with TTL-compatible tri-state outputs in a 24-pin plastic DIP package. The "D" prefix denotes the plastic DIP package.
This device was widely used in minicomputers, embedded controllers, workstations, industrial equipment, and classic arcade game boards of the late 1970s and 1980s. It is field-programmable using standard bipolar PROM programming equipment and JEDEC-compatible software.
Compatible cross-reference parts include the AMD Am27S181, Signetics N82S181, MMI 63S841, and others in the 1024 x 8 bipolar PROM family.
Intel-branded vintage memory ICs from this era are highly sought after by retrocomputing enthusiasts, vintage hardware restorers, and classic computer collectors. Blank (unprogrammed) units are particularly valuable for system restoration and PROM replacement projects.
Part markings are intact and legible. Sold as-is for electronics, programming, and collector use.
