You are purchasing a complete IBM 5150 Personal Computer system, including the IBM 5151 monochrome CRT monitor, IBM Model F keyboard, and a 256K IBM PC equipped with two 5.25-inch floppy drives. This is the classic original IBM PC configuration with a green monochrome display.
Unlike many vintage systems listed only as “powers on” or “untested,” this computer has received substantial service work. The monitor, computer power supply, floppy drives, and system board have been evaluated and serviced as described below. My goal is to offer a vintage IBM PC that can be enjoyed for years with most of the age related issues addressed.

Restoration and Service Work
- IBM 5151 monitor recapped: serviced with capacitor replacement to address age-related electronic component concerns.
- Computer power supply recapped: all electrolytic capacitors replaced.
- Both floppy drives serviced: mechanisms lubricated and rotational speed calibrated; capacitors replaced where necessary.
- Motherboard serviced: repairs performed as needed, including replacement of troublesome tantalum capacitors where necessary. This does not imply every motherboard capacitor was replaced.
- System testing: components have been checked for operation following the service work described above.
Cosmetic Condition & Known Imperfections
This is a genuine vintage IBM computer system more than four decades old. It presents well overall, but there are two specific cosmetic issues to disclose:
- IBM 5151 screen: very slight, barely visible image burn-in. Please review the monitor photographs carefully.
- IBM Model F keyboard: a few small chips on the front of the keyboard housing.
Please examine the photographs: they show the actual system and are part of the condition description. Normal age-related cosmetic wear should also be expected. This complete system also includes a 13-disk software package prepared for the original IBM PC. It combines the 10-disk monochrome software collection featured in my other listings with three newly prepared copies of classic IBM system software.
Monochrome Software Collection — 10 Disks
Nine tested software disks plus one blank, formatted disk. Programs include German Teacher (Disks 1 and 2), Quik-N-Ez Recipes, PC-Track Spreadsheet, HP Calculators, PC Magazine Utilities (Disks I and II), I.B. Magazette, and a monochrome games collection. All nine software disks were tested on original IBM equipment, including games selected for monochrome displays.
These ten disks were recorded on new-old-stock 5.25-inch DiskMASTER DS/DD 360K media from a previously sealed 1993, Made in USA package. Protective disk sleeves, write-protect tabs, and extra IBM-style disk labels accompany the collection.

These three newly produced copies recreate the IBM operating-system and support-software bundle originally supplied with this computer. They are included for the vintage IBM PC experience, not represented as the original factory-issued disks.
Software media note: All included software disks are newly prepared copies, not original factory-issued IBM or commercial distribution disks. Monochrome Display & Software Compatibility
The included IBM 5151 is a monochrome monitor, not a color graphics monitor. It is ideal for the original IBM PC's green-text computing experience, including DOS, word processing, business applications, and the bundled programs selected for monochrome displays.
Programs that require a CGA or other color graphics adapter and display may not be compatible with this configuration. Please check the requirements of any software you plan to use.
Important Vintage Computer Note
This is original 1980s electronic equipment. Considerable work has been performed to improve its condition and operation, but vintage components and magnetic-media drives can still require periodic attention. A serviced vintage computer should not be confused with a new computer or a guarantee against all future component failures.
Why This System Is Different
Many IBM PCs on the vintage market are sold untested or with little information about the condition of their internal electronics. This system has received meaningful component-level service, not simply an exterior cleaning.
