GIGABYTE B550 EAGLE WIFI6 — AMD AM4 ATX Motherboard with Wi-Fi 6

PLEASE NOTE — BOX IS NOT ORIGINAL TO THIS BOARD

This motherboard ships in a Gigabyte B550 EAGLE WIFI6 retail box, but that box is not the original packaging for this specific unit. It is the correct box for this model, same name and same revision, but the serial number on the box label will not match the board. I am telling you this up front so there is no confusion when it arrives.

The board itself is identified as the B550 EAGLE WIFI6, revision 1.0, by the model name printed on the circuit board and by the board's own BIOS, both shown in the photos.

CONDITION

Great physical condition. Heatsinks and M.2 shield are clean and intact. All expansion slots, DIMM slots, DIMM latches, headers, and rear I/O ports are undamaged. No bent components, no corrosion, no burn marks, and no evidence of liquid exposure.

SOCKET CONDITION: AM4 is a PGA platform, meaning the pins live on the processor and the motherboard socket is a grid of contact holes. There are no pins on this board to bend. I have inspected the socket and found the contact holes clean and free of debris, the socket body uncracked, and the retention lever operating smoothly. Socket photos are included.

Component date codes on the rear I/O indicate late-2024 production, making this a relatively recent board.

TESTING AND BIOS

I powered the board on with a processor and memory installed and confirmed it posts and enters the BIOS normally. The photographed BIOS flash screen shows the board correctly identifying itself as the B550 EAGLE WIFI6.

BIOS STATUS — PLEASE READ: At the time of that photo, the board was running BIOS version F1 (dated 11/18/2024), and I was in the process of updating it to version F4a (dated 04/14/2026) using Gigabyte's built-in Q-Flash utility. I believe that update completed successfully, but I did not take a confirmation photo afterward, so I cannot show you proof that it finished.

What that means for you: the board is most likely running F4a, but it is possible it is still on F1. Either way, it will work. F1 already supports AMD Ryzen 5000 series processors, which this board was built for from the start. If you want to verify or update the BIOS yourself, you can check the version on the first BIOS screen at startup, and this board supports Q-Flash Plus, which allows BIOS updates from a USB drive using a dedicated rear button, even without a processor installed.

Scope of testing: this was power-on, post, and BIOS verification. I did not run an extended stress test or individually test every port and header.

IMPORTANT NOTES BEFORE YOU BUY

- HDMI IS THE ONLY VIDEO OUTPUT, AND IT REQUIRES AN APU. This board has one HDMI port and no DisplayPort. That HDMI port only produces video when paired with a Ryzen processor that has integrated graphics, the "G" series such as the 5600G or 5700G. Standard Ryzen chips including the 5600X, 5800X, 5800X3D, and 5900X have NO integrated graphics. With those processors you MUST use a discrete graphics card and connect your monitor to it.

- CPU COMPATIBILITY. B550 supports Ryzen 5000 series and Ryzen 5000G / 4000G APUs. It does not support Ryzen 1000 or 2000 series processors. Check Gigabyte's CPU support list for your specific processor before buying.

- DDR4 ONLY. AM4 is a DDR4 platform. DDR5 memory is not compatible.
