eGPU unit does not charge my laptop. I don't know if it's because my laptop (AMD Framework Laptop 13) is not compatible with the charging protocol used by the unit or if the unit's charging capabilities itself are malfunctioning. I'm just going to assume it's a problem with the eGPU unit itself.
So, if you need or want a one-cable solution where you can both use the eGPU and charge your laptop at the same time, then consider passing on this particular unit and look elsewhere.
However, I was still able to connect the eGPU to my laptop with the included Thunderbolt 3 cable to confirm that everything else is working. You can check the gallery to see it being detected by windows and GPU-Z, running a benchmark and being used with Gigabyte's RGB and monitoring software. What's included:
- Gigabyte Aorus GTX 1080 Gaming Box- Carrying bag- Power Cable- Thunderbolt 3 Cable
