ABOUT EXPERT HOME DESIGN
Expert Home Design was designed as an accessible home-layout and floor-planning program rather than a high-end professional CAD package.
Contemporary descriptions indicate that the Macintosh version allowed users to create floor plans and rearrange home interiors onscreen before physically moving furniture. Its library contained more than 100 furniture shapes, and floor plans could be created using grids measured in either feet or meters.Apple II Mirror
Typical uses included:
- Creating home floor plans
- Designing room layouts
- Experimenting with furniture placement
- Adding walls, doors and windows
- Adding text and labels
- Working with dimensions
- Planning interior arrangements
- Printing completed designs
Period coverage described Expert Home Design as providing basic drawing tools along with tools for adding walls, doors and windows.Deseret News
