Both available modules were fully tested in the complete enterprise storage system, with operational SAS connectivity verified before removal.

Verified Testing Results

FULLY TESTED — BOTH IOMs WORKING

Both modules were installed and tested in the complete Dell PowerVault ME4012 + ME412 enterprise storage system.

At final testing:

• Both expansion IOMs reported FRU Status OK

• Both active SAS expansion paths reported Up / OK

• All 12 drives installed in the ME412 reported Health OK

• All 12 expansion drives were detected and available

• Expansion enclosure power supplies reported OK

• Temperature, voltage, and enclosure sensors reported OK

• Firmware revision 52CC installed

• Dell firmware-upgrade health check passed

The modules were working correctly at the time of removal.

Important — Source Enclosure VPD Warning

The original ME412 expansion enclosure reported a persistent midplane VPD-copy mismatch:

"A midplane VPD mismatch was detected. VPD copies do not match."

Troubleshooting isolated the warning to the ME412 midplane/VPD identification information.

Despite this warning, both expansion IOMs reported OK, both active SAS paths remained Up / OK, and all 12 drives were detected and operational.

The warning persisted after firmware updates, controlled cold restart, full power removal, and reseating/inspection of the IOMs.

The IOMs themselves were confirmed operational in the complete storage system. The midplane VPD condition remained unresolved when the system was decommissioned.

The modules have not been retested in a second, separate enclosure after removal.
