Travel straight back to 2002 and the definitive dawn of the Windows XP generation with an authentic desktop legend: an original Dell Dimension 4400 Mid-Tower Retro Gaming PC!
Sporting Dell's iconic early-2000s two-tone midnight-gray and charcoal clamshell case with its curved front scoop, center power medallion, and green diagnostic LED ring, the Dimension 4400 is one of the most celebrated platforms for early Socket 478 computing. Powered by an authentic Intel Pentium 4 processor clocked at 1.70GHz (400MHz FSB, 256KB L2 cache), 640MB of DDR SDRAM (128MB + 512MB configured across dual memory banks), and dual optical drives, this machine powers up cleanly into its factory Dell A00 BIOS setup screen!
Unlike standard basic home PCs, this unit comes pre-loaded with an enthusiast array of period-correct expansion cards:
A dedicated AGP 4X Graphics Card featuring both 15-pin analog VGA and S-Video TV-Out (native, artifact-free output directly to vintage CRT monitors and TVs)
An authentic Creative Sound Blaster Live! PCI Audio Card featuring full color-coded 5.1/quadraphonic surround jacks and a dedicated 15-pin Game/MIDI joystick port (essential for authentic Sound Blaster DOS/Win9x/XP gaming)
A dedicated PCI 10/100 Ethernet Network Card with activity LEDs
A 56K internal PCI dial-up modem card
A 4-port high-speed USB 2.0 PCI expansion bracket
For retro PC gamers, vintage hardware collectors, and archivists, early Socket 478 platforms offer the ultimate flexibility for running late-DOS, Windows 98 Second Edition, Windows 2000, or Windows XP. The system powers on and works cleanly (posts to BIOS and boots to external media/network as pictured). It is sold without an internal hard drive, leaving it wide open for you to install an IDE/PATA hard disk, CompactFlash-to-IDE adapter, or DOM SSD and configure your dream retro gaming setup with titles like Half-Life, Diablo II, Unreal Tournament, StarCraft, Quake III Arena, Age of Empires II, and Max Payne!

Condition Notes
Functional Condition: Bench-tested and verified working. Powers on immediately and posts smoothly to the Dell A00 BIOS setup screen (system clock, processor, memory banks, and bus speed all detected accurately). Internal cooling fans spin freely, optical drive activity lights respond, and the dedicated AGP video card outputs a sharp, rock-solid display signal. Please note: As pictured and stated, no hard drive or operating system is included; the buyer will need to supply their own storage drive, configure BIOS settings, and install their desired OS.
Cosmetic Condition: Great vintage condition overall. The two-tone dark gray clamshell chassis, side panels, and front bezels are structurally solid with no broken hinges, missing feet, or cracked plastic. Shows light, normal cosmetic surface marks and faint shelf wear consistent with age and careful handling. Original case badges, rear service tag barcode label (6GZS511), and internal serial stickers remain intact and fully legible. Please review the high-resolution photos for an exact look at physical condition.
