Vintage CSC T2M Megatower External SCSI Optical Drive / Data Storage Unit.

The identification label on the unit reads CSC Model # CSC T2M – External Optical Drive. The rear label identifies it as a CSC High Performance SCSI Data Storage Unit.

The unit powers on and shows signs of operation. The internal fan operates and the drive mechanism responds normally to insertion/eject commands during basic testing.

Includes the original-style Maxtor Shipping / Dummy Cartridge shown in the photos. When inserted, the drive pulls the cartridge down into the mechanism, the indicator illuminates, and mechanical activity can be heard.

When the eject button is pressed, the mechanism raises the cartridge into the eject position, but does not push it far enough out to easily grab by hand. The cartridge can be removed by carefully tilting the unit and allowing it to slide out. Please see photos of the actual cartridge included.

The drive was not connected to a computer through SCSI and was not tested for reading/writing data, so complete functionality is unknown.

Cosmetically, the unit shows age-related wear, discoloration, scratches, dust and marks. Interior photos are included to show the actual components and condition.
