Bi-Metal Titanium Copper Heatbreak (Throat)
Price: US $14.99
Description: The Bi-Metal Heatbreak has continued to gain attraction each year. Most heatbreaks are made of metal with a PTFE tube inside. This tube thermally insulates the filament before it reaches the nozzle. The PTFE lined heatbreak is well suited for PLA prints since they do not require high temperatures. However, an all-metal heatbreak allows you to print at higher temperatures without worrying about the PTFE tubings dangerous fumes. A Bi-Metal Heatbreak improves on the fundamental problems that a PTFE tube insert has but it also has advantages that some stainless steel heatbreaks cannot provide. It is comprised of two metal alloys, Titanium and Copper. There have been several terms used for each end of the Heatbreak, I will refer to the ends from filament entrance to filament exit. The heatbreak is considered the connecting component between the "hot" and "cold" ends of the hotend and is used as a transition area between the molten material and the solid filament. First up is the copper entry. The Copper alloy provides unique thermal properties by accelerating heat conduction and heat dissapation from the "hot" end and then out through the heatsink. This section of the Heatbreak houses an inner shoulder for your PTFE of choice to rest. As the filament reaches the first contact with the Heatbreak it leaves the PTFE and passes down to the ultra-smooth throat allowing for an easy transition and a smooth continuation. The last section is the Titanium exit. The Titanium provides an alternate set of thermal properties by reducing heat transfer through the Copper alloy and maintaining a steadier temperature at the heatblock. ***Note: when using a brass nozzle, care should be taken to not overtighten the nozzle. Damage may occur where the softer brass meets the harder Titanium. Benefits: ⦁ Allows for higher printing temperatures ⦁ Increased wear resistance ⦁ Reduces heat creep ⦁ Creates smoother prints Specifications: ⦁ Net weight: 4.65g ⦁ Size: 27.2 x 7mm ⦁ Roughness ≤ Ra0.4 ⦁ Filament: 1.75mm Compatible with most the the Creality 3D printers to include the Ender3, Ender5, CR-10S and others with the same hotend setup.
