Up for sale is my beautiful Macintosh Color Classic II computer. This model is a huge step up from the original Color Classic, because it runs at twice the CPU clock speed and can support much more RAM. I have done so much work to make this vintage Mac quick, reliable, and so much fun to use! Here is a brief summary:
- RAM upgraded to 36MB
- BlueSCSI v2 installed in place of mechanical hard disk (uses a 16GB SD card for file storage)
- Floppy drive tested to read, write, and eject disks
- Logic board re-capped using Nichicon capacitors
- Analog board re-capped using Nichicon capacitors
- CRT adjusted for proper geometry and color
- Case cleaned and detailed
- Ethernet card installed
As was mentioned, in place of the original mechanical hard drive, a more reliable BlueSCSI v2 drive has been installed which uses a 16GB SD card for storage. Three hard drive partitions are currently set up - each about 2GB in size. One has System 7.1, one has System 7.5.5, and the third is loaded with software and can be used for general storage. This setup allows you to boot up into whatever version of system software you\'d like! I have also installed many applications, utilities, developer programs, and some classic games (see photos). If there is a specific title you\'re looking for, I\'d be happy to see about preloading it for you!
Neither the logic board nor the analog board had any significant capacitor leakage, but a recap was completed regardless as a precaution. This is a low-hours computer, and should continue to run well into the future. The speaker is loud and clear, and the clock battery has been removed to prevent any leakage in the future. Also, I have also installed a DaynaPort ethernet card for those crazy enough to take this Mac online. I never felt the need to, but it\'s there if you want to try. This listing is for the Color Classic, keyboard, mouse, and power cable only.
I have restored many of these machines, and I take extreme pride in each one I work on (check my response). This one is no exception.
