For sale is anAlienware M14x R2 14" Laptop. It has an i5-3210M CPU running at 2.5 GHz, 8GB RAM, 120GB SSD, NVIDIA GT 650M, and running Windows 10. Overall in good condition, but let's start with the cons first:
There is a bunch of lint/particles in between the display cover and LCD screen, previous owner must have changed the LCD screen which caused this. Visible mostly when the unit is turned off and it's a black screen, during normal operation they are a lot harder to see save for a few lint/particles. Both the actual LCD screen and display cover are great - no dead pixels or any chips and cracks. Neither need to be replaced here, simply open the display cover with a tool and clean it if it bothers you a lot. I never had an issue with it so I decided to leave it like this.
The built in camera and mic are not working. The camera is not detected at all and there seems to be an issue with the built in mic driver. Can easily work around these by connecting a usb camera or mic if you wish. There are also scuffs and imperfections on both the cover, under the laptop, and around the speakers area. Nothing affecting performance or usability here but I have to mention it.
I did my best to take pictures of every angle and imperfection including the above issues so please check out the pictures. Price has been adjusted to reflect these. Now the good stuff: Apart from the minor issues mentioned, the laptop is in great working condition. Boots fast thanks to the SSD. I tested every port, cd/dvd drive, even the HDMI port and they all work well. Speakers sound great and the headphone jack works. All the keys function beautifully as well as the track pad. Battery seems to hold a charge decently - haven't tested for gaming extensively so can't guarantee that, but browsing, installing programs, and media playback the battery was holding fine. Says about 2 hours under the "Better Battery" setting. Not sure if the "ALIENWARE" lighting under the display is working, but all the other lighting works. The gpu is working and I ran a benchmark of FFXIV Dawntrail and it got a Standard score at 720p Laptop Standard settings. Both this laptop and gpu are old, however, so I would personally just stick to light gaming.A Dell charger is included and it works well. This gaming laptop is old, but works well and I have sold these before. Offers welcome, but I know its value and I'm sure you do too if you are reading this. Thanks.
