The ASUS DRW-24F1ST is a newer, updated version ofthe ASUS DRW-24B1ST, with differences that are essentiallynonexistent for non-professional users. Both drives share the same physicaldimensions, SATA interface, and bundled software, making them functionallyinterchangeable for most tasks.

M-Disc (Millennial Disc) is a write-once opticalstorage format developed by Millenniata in 2009, designed for long-termarchival preservation. Unlike standard discs that use degradable organic dyes,M-Discs feature a patented rock-like inorganic recording layer thatphysically engraves data, making it resistant to oxidation, heat, humidity, andlight.

Manufactured by companies like Verbatim and Ritek, M-Discsare available in DVD (4.7 GB), Blu-ray (25 GB and 50 GB), and BDXL(100 GB) capacities. While they require specific "M-Disc Ready"drives for writing, they are compatible with most standard DVD and Blu-rayreaders, with manufacturers claiming a data lifespan of up to 1,000 yearswhen stored properly.
