Preparation Before Installing a New Battery

1. First check if the battery is the same size as your original battery after receiving it.
2. Before disassembling your laptop, put the old battery charge below 25%.
3. We recommend that you search for battery removal tutorials on the Internet in advance, or seek help from a professional technician. We won't responsible for any damage due to improper operation.
4. When installing the battery, pay attention to whether the battery cable is fixed. If the battery cable is not installed correctly, the battery may not be charged.

Usual Troubleshooting Methords (1)

After installing a new battery, if your Mac fails to charge the battery, the Mac won't turn on, fans are spinning fast, or the Mac laptop is overheating. Resetting the SMC can resolve some less common issues related to power or thermal management.

Follow these steps:

1. Shut down your Mac.
2. Press and hold the power button for 10 seconds, then release the button. (Every Mac has a power button. On laptops with Touch ID, press and hold Touch ID.)
3. Wait a few seconds, then press the power button to turn on your Mac.

If the problem persists, reset the SMC:

1. Shut down your Mac.
2. On the keyboard, press and hold all of the following keys. Your Mac might turn on. (1)Control on the left side of the keyboard; (2)Option (Alt) on the left side of the keyboard; (3)Shift on the right side of the keyboard.
3. Press and hold the three keys for 7 seconds, then press and hold the power button without releasing the keys. If your Mac is on, it will shut down when you hold down these keys.
4. Continue to hold the four keys for 7 seconds, then release the keys.
5. Wait a few seconds, then press the power button to turn on your Mac.

7. If unpleasant smell is detected and deforming casing occurred during charging, turn off the power supply immediately, and unplug the power cord from AC wall-socket to avoid possible damage or risk (e.g. fire).
