This vintage set was purchased fron an estate, and is in 'as found' condition.
It is an original 1965 General Electric / Penton Education Division (Cleveland) zeros and ones instructional course.Own a piece of early digital computing, programming, or coding history, from the days of IBM mainframe computers, tape, and cards!!
We could not find another of these in our online research, so it appears to be very rare.
INCLUDED ARE THREE 11" BY 8-5/8" COMB BOUND, SOFT COVER PROGRAMMED INSTRUCTION BOOKS + MORE.
They have no writing or markings inside (though there are areas to comment and answer questions), and are in "like new" shape.
THE 3 BOOKS IN THE SET ARE:
- Section 1: BINARY NOTATION (45 pages, plus 4 post-test pages)
- Section 2: FUNDAMENTAL LOGIC (77 pages, plus 5 post-test pages)
- Section 3: BINARY COUNTERS (64 pages, plus 5 post-test pages)
Also included are a small cardboard backed "Binary Down-Counter Trigger Sheet" and tacks, which have never been stuck onto the board to use in a binary counting / Boolean algebra engineering exercise.
No other components come with the set, just what is photographed and described.
Since there are no others available to compare, we do not know if other materials were originally included.
(Perhaps the instructional set was also accompanied by a film, micro fiche, or overhead projector presentation??).
