Product Functionality

• Technician is preloaded with TWRP 2.8.7.0, OpenGApps 4.4 Nano, and Nova Launcher 5.5.4. All previous configurations have been purged, and the internal SD card wiped. Unit boots to Android 4.4's first-time setup.

  This device represents a good base as a ROOTED 32 inch Android tablet for use as digital signage, a smart home panel, a television, conferencing (Given external Camera & Microphone), etc.

  TECHNICAL was originally locked down with a proprietary software called "Zygote" (NOT the Zygote root process). This appears to be an MDM used to centrally manage interactive digital signage, with pre-configured call home servers and API credentials. Otherwise, the device was heavily locked down as an Android device.

  This software has been removed and replaced with Nova Launcher 5.5.4 (as a System App; will survive a factory reset) to allow standalone operation.

  Similarly, the device did not come with Google Play Services nor a functional bootloader mode. Thus, we've flashed the device with TWRP and Google Play Services to allow access to first-party Google apps, including the Play Store. App selection is limited due to the age of the Android version, but the device can still be easily interfaced with via the Mini USB OTG port and the Android Debug Bridge for arbitrary configuration.

  Unlike handheld tablets, battery capacity was not included in product design. Device must be plugged in to style="font-size: 18px">
