Complete in matching # original box first Macintosh Model M0001 sets in this nice working condition are very special and hard to find now. Macintosh is all original with the original motherboard upgraded to 512K, so RAM is the same as the newer Mac 512K model that came out later in 1984. This Mac still maintains the original model 128K case and emblems and label, the original single-sided 400K floppy drive, and the original motherboard that came in this Mac. Motherboard is the late 1984 version that could be configured as either a 128K or 512K from the factory by Apple, therefore this one only needed new ROM chips to make it 512K memory. Earlier 1984 Mac boards only were able to be 128K unless more modifications made. These hybrid boards first came out in fall 1984 when the Macintosh 512K M0001W was introduced. This original Model M0001 was produced after that in late 1984 so uses that hybrid motherboard.

Smoke-free climate-controlled use and storage, no smoke or old musty odors absorbed into the cardboard box or manuals or any of the other included items which cannot be removed and greatly detract from condition and value, but of coursecannotbe identified from online photos, so make sure you know before you invest. All photos are of the exact items the buyer will receive.

Celebrate the40th Anniversaryof the launch of this original Macintosh M0001 128K model! The Mac was first introduced with the famous Orwellian "1984" commercial during Super Bowl XVIII on January 22, 1984; and was the very first reasonably affordable personal/home computer to utilize a mouse and a Graphical User Interface (GUI) with desktop icons.

Macintosh system unit- (Model M0001)- Week 47 of 1984 production as decoded from the serial # on the Mac that starts with F447 which decodes as: F= Fremont, CA plant, 4= 1984, 47 = 47th week of year which was late-November 1984. Serial # on the Mac matches the original serial # label on the side of the original retail box so this is the full set just as it came from Apple way back in 1984! NON-Upgraded original Macintosh 128K motherboard still inside, never upgraded or modified!

Mac is the original beige/cream color, not all darkly yellowed, discolored, mismatched, marked up, cracked, or damaged like many seen now are. No marker writing, no stickers or old sticker outlines, no cracks or missing parts, no engravings. Only has some very minor imperfections as expected for a now 40 years-old pre-owned computer, very hard to find now in this nice clean overall cosmetic condition!

NO ugly pry marks to any of the case seams of the Mac on top or sides as this unit was never pried apart improperly with the wrong tools like many were, which greatly detracts from appearance and value as many have large nicks and nicks at the seams, but often is not shown or cannot be seen in photos. Many of these early Macs were pried apart all along the case seams with screwdrivers leaving ugly gouges and marks on the case, but this one was not.

NO corrosion to the clock memory battery compartment on the rear, many will have heavily corroded contacts from old batteries being left in which leak out and cause internal damage to the Mac, this one is clean! All four original rubber feet still on bottom of Mac and clean, not sticky. Screen display is bright, crisp, and stable with no burn-in or scratches on the glass. Steve Jobs and the original Macintosh design teams molded signatures inside the rear case housing.

Sony 400K Single-Sided Internal Disk Drive- Disk insert and eject mechanism has just now been fully cleaned and properly re-lubricated, so disks go in and out smoothly as designed. Drive head cleaned so disks read properly. Original Macs are totally dependent on the floppy drive as there is no hard drive, so a properly serviced and tested disk drive like this one is essential for original intended use given the age. If you risk buying an original Mac with a non-serviced drive it will likely be locked up with the old dried out lubricant and unable to insert/eject disks, or read disks, among other possible problems. This one functions just like new again!

Original 1984 Apple Macintosh keyboard- (Model # M0110)w/original coiled keyboard cable. Week 46 of 1984 production as decoded from the serial # starting with G446 (4=1984, 46 = week 46). Original Picasso cardboard sleeve and nice clean white foam holders with embossed Apple logo, foam not cracked or broken.Sleeve edges are not torn on the end where it inserts into the Styrofoam holders in the main box, often these are torn and damaged from repackaging many times. Original keyboard cable is clean and tightly coiled like new, not all stretched out like heavily used ones, prong ends not broken so stay firmly in place. All keys are clean and functional, every single key tested working to register input when connected to this Macintosh!

Original 1984 Apple Macintosh one-button mouse- (Model # M0100) Original square style plug connector. Week 46 of 1984 production as decoded from the serial # starting with G446 (4=1984, 46 = week 46). Original Picasso cardboard sleeve and nice clean white foam holders with embossed Apple logo, foam not cracked or broken. Sleeve edges not torn on either end. Mouse rolls smoothly and works perfectly with this Mac.

Original 1984 Macintosh mice and keyboards were made at a different production plant from Mac computer units, then were paired up with a Macintosh for final packaging and shipment, so will always be from right around the same timeframe of production as the Mac if they are the originals that came with the Mac, not from a much earlier and certainly not a much later week of production than the Mac as completed Macintosh units were not left sitting around waiting for a mouse and keyboard, they were shipped out with the accessories that were already produced. This is a matching original set as it came from Apple in 1984 with week 46 production Mac and keyboard production for the mouse, which coincides with the Mac serial number produced week 47.

1984 Macintosh Picasso Accessory Kit- Rare original Mac white plastic Picasso Accessory Kit box. Nice clean white color, not darkly yellowed or all discolored, corners not cracked or broken. The included original disks are all tested and working on this Macintosh with the freshly serviced internal disk drive! Includes all of the following:
  • 1984 Macintosh Owner's Guide
  • 1983 MacPaint Manual
  • 1984MacWrite Manual
  • Macintosh System and MacWrite MacPaint disk
  • MacWrite disk
  • A Guided Tour of Macintosh disk
  • SEALED A Guided Tour of MacWrite and MacPaint audio cassette in original case and shrink-wrap
  • Original Picasso cardboard power cord sleeve
  • Original Apple branded Macintosh power cord
  • Original Picasso fold-out packing list and set-up brochure showing all the original contents

Apple Macintosh Original Retail Box- Original serial# label on the box matches the serial # label on the Macintosh! Date code stamped inside the box under the bottom box flap is "10-84" indicating the box was made by the box manufacturer in October of 1984 so shortly before this Mac was produced in late November of 1984.

Box includes both the original top and bottom internal white Styrofoam that holds the Mac in nice, clean and white undamaged condition, top not cracked or broken, bottom piece has a small chunk that is still there but not attached, but that foam never leaves the box. Top foam has the large Apple embossed logo where the Picasso accessory kit box is placed. Original shipment label to Michigan State University on side of box as shown but glue has dried off so it is loose and will be sent in with the Mac kit accessories. Original shipping label from UPS show 1/22/85 shipping date.

Box is in excellent condition considering the age of 40 years and it is the box this Mac was originally shipped in from Apple! Some discoloration and scuff marks, stains, edge wear, dings etc. as expected given the age. Some minor pen writing on the top. Over-all very nice clean and solid! All box flaps are fully attached, box not all taped over. There are stains on the top inner flaps and looks like it ran or splattered down both sides of box, may have been coffee maybe but only on the outer box. Both box side carry handles are NOT torn through or damaged, which is not typical with these early Mac boxes given the weight of the contents the handles are usually torn through, this one is perfectly solid and handles intact!

Most of these 1984 Macintosh boxes are long gone now 40 years later, or in much worse condition than this one considering it the box the Mac originally shipped in and has remained with this matching # Mac all this time! Ready for prominent display in your Apple or vintage computer collection!
