I got this monitor as an “upgrade” for a different ASUS monitor that ASUS warranty decided they couldn’t fix. Stupid me didn’t open it for a year because I was in the middle of school and had purchased a different monitor as I couldn’t simply wait for them to fix my old one, decide they couldn’t, and then ship this one. I thought I kept it in perfect condition but when I went to finally set it up last year, there is a significant portion of the left screen pixels that have been damaged.
I have no way to know if it got injured while I was moving houses or if it came to me damaged, but, because it’s been a year, the warranty refuses to fix it. I called computer repair and they told me it would be cheaper to buy a new one than to replace the screen unless I was extremely attached to this monitor (I’m not). As far as I can tell, there are no other issues with the monitor other than the pixels (the physical screen does not show damage either). It still connects to my computer and runs (not shown because I didn’t bother to hook it up completely, just to pack it back up). The dead pixels would drive me crazy but, if you don’t mind them, you could still use it as a monitor.
won’t allow me to post a link to Amazon so look up: ASUS TUF Gaming VG35VQ 35” Curved HDR Monitor 100Hz Uwqhd (3440 X 1440) 1ms FreeSync Eye Care DisplayPort HDMI USB HDR10. If you want an equivalent comparison.
Price is still high because it’s never been used and functional beyond that set of pixels (picture included). Recommended for scrap but let me know if you have any questions.
