• Begin battery charge
• Main board is POST tested
• Manufacturer diagnostics run (if available)
• CD-ROM is tested by booting into more diagnostics
• Memtest86+ RAM diagnostics are run
• Hard drives (if included) are platter & performance tested with manufacturer's diagnostics
• Battery's holding ability is briefly tested.
