Original vintage Apple IIe computer being offered as a restoration project, parts machine or donor system.
PLEASE READ THE ENTIRE CONDITION DESCRIPTION.
This computer is UNTESTED and is being sold strictly AS-IS FOR PARTS OR REPAIR.
It was acquired as part of an older collection of vintage computer equipment. Due to its age, condition and unknown service history, we have not attempted to represent it as a functional computer.
The case has been opened for inspection and photography so buyers can see exactly what remains inside.
Several removable expansion/controller cards originally found in the computer have been removed and are NOT INCLUDED with this listing. Please rely on the final listing photographs for exactly what is included.
The computer DOES include the major components visibly remaining in the final photographs, including the original Apple IIe chassis/case, motherboard, internal power supply and keyboard assembly.
No claims are being made regarding the functionality of the motherboard, power supply, keyboard, individual ICs, switches, connectors or any other component.
This machine is dirty.
It shows substantial accumulated dust, grime, discoloration/yellowing, oxidation, surface corrosion in areas and general cosmetic wear from decades of age, use and storage. It has NOT been restored or thoroughly cleaned.
We are intentionally selling it this way.
For a vintage Apple collector or technician, an untouched machine can be considerably more useful than one that has been improperly repaired, modified or cosmetically altered. The remaining original hardware may be useful for restoration, diagnosis, donor components or rebuilding another Apple IIe.
These Apple IIe systems are now surviving examples of one of the most recognizable personal computer platforms of the 1980s. Even incomplete or nonworking machines retain value because original cases, keyboards, motherboards, power supplies, ICs and miscellaneous hardware are increasingly needed to maintain other surviving systems.
Please examine ALL photographs carefully.
They are an important part of the description and are intended to document the machine honestly rather than hide its condition.
