Vintage Texas Instruments TI 99/4A Home Computer.

Please see pictures. All items in good condition. I plugged the computer into my TV (used an updated 5-prong plug, which I will include for modern TVs) and the screen did appear as shown in the picture, so computer turns on and the beep sound was heard. However, the keyboard does not work - may need a new button board or have a connection repaired. Also included are 2 wired remote controllers (with instructions), a speech synthesizer (with instructions), the original video modulator switch (with instructions), a program tape recorder with hook-ups (works with instructions), several larger instruction & user guides, 6 separate game/tape cartridges (with instructions), plus the TI 99/4A computer itself, the power cord and the original box. Picture of the back of the 99/4A identifies this as Model PHCOO4A.

TheTI-99/4Awas released in June 1981 to address some of these issues. It includes a simplified internal design, a full-travel keyboard, improved graphics, and a unique expansion system. At half the price of the original model, sales picked up significantly. TI supported the 4A with a peripherals, including a speech synthesizer and a "Peripheral Expansion System" box to contain hardware add-ons. TI released developer information and tools, but the insistence on remaining sole publisher continued to starve the platform of software.
