Sun Microsystems Ultra 5 desktop (380-0341-01) This basic Ultra 5 SPARC desktop needs some cosmetic cleanup, but she's a solid little machine. Full configuration:

• 400MHz UltraSPARC-IIi CPU, 2MB cache (501-5741)
• 512MB RAM (4 x 128MB)
• 10GB ATA-66 hard disk (WD WD102BB)
• On-board "m64" graphics (4MB)
• On-board "hme" 10/100 Ethernet
• CD-ROM (CRD-8322B) and 1.44MB floppy

The hard disk contains a basic Solaris 7_HW11/99 user install to verify functionality, but you'll undoubtedly want to update or replace that. Also included is an original Sun Ultra 5 supplement CD with some extra drivers and patches on it. Requires a Sun keyboard and mouse (not PS/2!) or you can use the serial console.Condition notes:While the inside is very clean, and the machine has been stored in a cool, dry, smoke- and pet-free environment and seen only very light use, it will need a little TLC to really make it shiny again.

• The NVRAM battery is dead, because it always is. Lots of info about replacing/reprogramming these available on-line!
• There are a few scratches and scuffs, and the front plastics are yellowed, but the retrobrite treatment is all part of the fun when restoring "vintage" systems;
  
• The floppy tests good but may still need a good cleaning; the CD-ROM drive is verified to work too!
• The fan is a little grumbly so you might want to open up the power supply and check for dust, etc.
