TheSpace Launch System 3Dmodel was designed to get a clean print result, without consideringprinting material consumption, However, you are free to rotate, orscale,
every part of the model in the mostconvenient way for you.
Each file has been checked and repairedwith Netfabb
The parts of the model are alreadypositioned for 3D printing
Compatible with every Slicer-Simplify3D, Care, Slic3r, etc ...
All the parts of the model have beencut so as to be printed vertically, for a higher quality of printing
Formerlyknown was renamed following the creation of the Artemis program. The mission will lift off fromLaunchComplex 39BattheKennedySpace Centeraboardthe Space Launch System rocket. TheOrionspacecraftwillbe launched on a mission of between 26 and 42 days,[8]withat least six of those days in adistantretrograde orbitaroundtheMoon.[8]Afterreaching orbit and performing atrans-lunarinjection(burnto the Moon), the mission will deploy tenCubeSatsatellitesand the Orion spacecraft will enter adistantretrograde orbitforsix days. The Orion spacecraft will then return andreenterthe Earth's atmosphere, protected by its heat shield, and splash down in thePacificOcean. The mission will certify Orion and the Space Launch System for crewedflights beginning withArtemis2.[9]Afterthe Artemis 1 mission,Artemis2willperform a crewed lunar flyby andArtemis3willperform a crewed lunar landing, five decades after thelastApollo mission.
TheOrion spacecraft for Artemis 1 wasstackedon20 October 2021, marking the first time a super-heavy-lift vehiclehas been stacked inside NASA'sVehicleAssembly Building(VAB)since the finalSaturnV.On 17 August 2022, the fully stacked vehicle was rolled out forlaunch, after a series of delays caused by difficulties in pre-flighttesting. The first launch attempt was made on 29 August 2022, but wascancelled due to a faulty reading on a redundant sensor. The secondattempt on 3 September 2022 was also cancelled after a hydrogen leakwas discovered.[10]Onthe same day, in order to focus on troubleshooting the SLS, NASAdecided to forgo any launch attempts in the launch window ending 6September.[11]Afterthe leak was satisfactorily repaired, the next launch opportunity wasinitially on 27 September 2022[12]beforetrajectory forecasts for then-TropicalStorm Ianledto a weather delay. After the weather cleared out, NASA chose 14November 2022 as the launch date for the Artemis 1 mission.

Recommendedsettings for printing
each part was cut to be printedvertically, to have a better quality print, so for the upper parts,
it is recommended to print with a 4-5skirt
Quality
Layer height: 0.1mm*
Initial layer thickness: 0.3mm
Bottom/top pattern: lines
Horizontal expansion: 0.04mm (whenentering 0.04mm index, the 3D printer perceives the model asmonolith, i.e. as having no hidden layers).
*Layer Height 0.1mm is recommended fora better quality for the printed model. However, the printing timewill double.
As a STL file provider, our goal is toensure that the files are error-free and printable in the mostaccurate way. This is why we only test print the most difficultsegments of
the model’s parts.
The model's parts have been tested andprinted in PLA. In case you need advice where to get your filamentsfrom, check our partner's website.
