This vintage NEC PC-98RL model 5 has been carefully maintained to ensure it is in working condition.
Key Features & Maintenance Performed:
Full disassembly and thorough cleaning.
Internal backup battery replaced with a new one.
Power supply unit repaired and tested.
Floppy Disk Drives (FDD): Disassembled, cleaned, heads cleaned, and lubricated. Fully functional.
Mainboard: Visual inspection for capacitor degradation.
Slots: Memory, C-Bus, and C-Bus riser contacts cleaned for reliability.
Testing Details:
Successfully tested with MS-DOS 6.2 via SCSI HDD.
Loop test of game opening screen performed for 3 hours.
FDD testing: Disk boot, copy (1 to 2, 2 to 1), format, and file writing were successful with no errors.
Note: Front switch panel cover is missing.
Note: FM sound source is not equipped.
Note: High-resolution mode is untested due to lack of a compatible monitor and is excluded from the warranty.
Internal HDD has been removed; system settings updated accordingly.
Please note: As the internal battery is new and the machine has been stored, please set the date and time upon the first boot.
