One of only 1,000 numbered copies of the Microsoft Office:mac 2008 Special Limited Launch Edition — factory sealed, hand-numbered, and offered directly by a member of the original launch team.

This copy is numbered 459/1000 in Craig Eisler's handwriting on the back of the box. Eisler, General Manager of Microsoft's Macintosh Business Unit, also has his printed signature there alongside a personal message to the team that captures everything about what it took to ship this product:

Four years. Take-out dinners. Delayed vacations. Endless fire drills. Nerf gun fights. 1,336 sticky notes.

I was there for all of it.

What you're getting:

Factory sealed in original shrink wrap — never opened

Hand-numbered 459/1000 by Craig Eisler

Printed Eisler signature with GM title

Full Office:mac 2008 suite: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Entourage, Messenger

Minor surface scuffs to box and shrink wrap consistent with careful storage; seal fully intact

Genuine first-hand provenance — not a reseller find

These were produced as a commemorative run at the January 2008 launch and distributed to those involved in bringing the product to life. Factory sealed examples are extraordinarily rare nearly two decades later. This one has never left the hands of someone who was in the room.

For the serious Microsoft collector, Mac history enthusiast, or anyone who remembers what it meant when the Mac BU shipped something special.
