The Linksys BEFSR41 V3 is an EtherFast Cable/DSL wired broadband router with a built-in 4-port 10/100 Mbps switch. Designed for small office and home networks, it connects a broadband internet connection — cable modem or DSL — and shares it across up to four wired computers or devices simultaneously. This is Version 3 of the BEFSR41 series.

• Unit only — no AC adapter BEFSR41 was Linksys's best-selling entry-level broadband router through the late 1990s and early 2000s, widely used in small offices, home offices, and residences to share a single cable or DSL internet connection among multiple computers. It performs NAT routing to allow several devices to share one public IP address, and its integrated 4-port switch eliminates the need for a separate hub or switch for the LAN side. The V3 revision refined earlier hardware and is compatible with cable modems from providers such as Comcast and Cox, and DSL modems in bridged mode. While largely superseded by more modern routers with wireless capability, the BEFSR41 remains functional in legacy wired network setups, as a simple NAT device, or as a spare/backup router for small environments that don't require Wi-Fi.
