For sale is an IBM Portable Drive Bay 2000, P/N 19K4480. I used this with a ThinkPad 240 notebook computer for years. I installed a DVD-RW drive in it. I used to use it to read and burn CDs and DVDs on my ThinkPad. It can connect over USB or PCMCIA (both adapter cables are included). It also includes an external power supply but I don\'t remember ever having to use it. I believe the ThinkPad can power it.
It worked well for me for years; I just don\'t have the ThinkPad 240 notebook to use it with anymore. As far as I know, this drive should work fine but I don\'t really have a good way to test it anymore. Other drives (besides the DVD-RW that\'s in it) may be available; I\'m not sure. The DVD-RW is the only drive I ever used with it.
I also assume that this drive could be used with a number of different computers but I\'m not sure. I encourage you to do your own research to make sure this is compatible with your computer.
