Genuine B&B Electronics 485COSR serial interface converter, also sold under the later B+B SmartWorx / Advantech BB-485COSR designation. This inline converter changes unbalanced RS-232 transmit and receive signals to balanced RS-485 for industrial controls, instrumentation, data acquisition, and legacy serial communications.
The converter supports either 2-wire half-duplex or 4-wire full-duplex RS-485 communication. It provides automatic send-data control, so no special software control of handshake lines is required for normal operation.
