The armrest has some slits in it but I don\'t think it was used.The pencil rest is unused.The stand itself seems like it picks up fingerprints or something very easily and is hard to wipe away. I tried using a clorox disinfecting wipe + isopropyl alcohol on that part.Everything is still functional.
