Why we don't sell 3rd party (knock-off inks) or expired inks.......A typical Canon print head replacement for a wide format printer costs between $400 to $700. They are considered user consumable parts & Canon covers every new print head with a 1 year full replacement warranty - every time the print head is replaced - regardless of how old your printer is..... as long as you use Canon branded OEM inks. The core technology of these printers revolves around the print head & the inks. The OEM inks are designed to keep the color gamuts accurate while maintaining the integrity of the print nozzles to ensure their longest life. The correct mixture of coolants, cleaners and pigment make this happen. If the solids in the ink are not milled to size properly, ink nozzles clog prematurely. If the coolants are incorrect or too sparse, the heads will overheat (running the risk of damaging circuit boards with the print head) Some 3rd party ink companies say that they "guarantee" their ink and go as far to include print head replacement if the ink causes damage. But how do you prove that the ink caused the damage? Is it worth your time and additional money to prove that the ink was the culprit when the print head fails prematurely?

As for expired inks... Consider that the pigments that make up the inks are heavy solids suspended in water and other agents. Over time these solids settle and coagulate into "clumps". These clumps cause clogs and dramatically shorten the life of the print head.

So you may save some money at the time of purchase - but it may cost you much more in time & money when your equipment fails prematurely. We at Dorado Graphix are committed to selling only products that ensure our customers get the best performance and maximum longevity from their equipment.
