Up for sale is a true rare vintage IBM PC AT desktop computer in great working condition. It is rare to find a working original IBM PC computer like this. Don't lose this opportunity to own one of these IBM classics.
This IBM computer is one of my collections. It is more than 30 years old. But still works as expected when it was sold around late 1980s and early 1990s. The original motherboard was replaced with a 286 compatible motherboard. It has a 286 Compatible CPU, 1 MB RAM, 40 MB Seagate hard drive, both 3.5 and 5 1/4 Floppy disk drives, Headland VGA graphics card (that card alone cost $150+ in 1990s).
DOS 6.22 OS was installed. Everything works as you can see from the graphics output of these vintage DOS era games.The RLL/MFM disk controller board is able to support 2 hard drives and 2 floppy drives.You should be able to add one more old hard drive.
Issues and Notes:1. The computer cannot keep up the current time. But it does keep the other CMOS settings. I guess it maybe the CMOS battery voltage is low. The orginal CMOS battery is bad and leaking. I remove the bad battery and soldered a coin battery holder with a 3V CR2032 battery. So you will need to update time if you need accurate time for the computer.2. The AT keyboard port is hard to be fully inserted in. So I inserted an AT to PS/2 keybaord adapter for convenience to use more popular PS/2 style keyboard. The adapter will be included
3. The plastic power switch holder has a small plastic broken off. But it does not affect switch functionality. I tried to take a picture to show it in last picture, but it may not be clear.What is included in the Sale:Only the desktop computer and PS/2 keyboard adapter is included. Keyboard and Monitor in the pictures are not included. Due to the age of the computer and cost of the shipping (very heavy 40+ lbs), it will be sold as is, no return except DOA. But I am sure it will work when arrive.
