The RAM-234-3F1 (also part number RAM-234-3K1) RAM Tough Tray is spring loaded expandable tray that can accommodate 10 to 16 inch wide laptops. The tray includes four (4) side clamping arms with flat grips. These arms can be moved both vertically and horizontally. This allows for a custom fit for varying thicknesses of laptops and the freedom of not blocking ports or drives. The flat side arms also allow you to close the lid of your laptop when not in use. Hole patterns on perimeter of tray facilitate the mounting of additional RAM systems to support GPS, PDAs or other electronics.
Mounting the RAM Mount Laptop Tough Tray:The underside of the tray has the industry standard AMPS four (4) hole pattern. Included with the tray is the hardware to connect the tray to any of the RAM plates with the equal hole pattern. The RAM tough tray will connect to the RAM C (1.5" dia.) Ball Size and RAM D (2.25" dia.) Ball Size mounting systems.
Using the RAM Mount Laptop Tough Tray:1.Side Arm Location: There are three (3) slots on either side of the tray that allow the side arms to be connected enabling you to place the arms in the right spot for your all of the side ports and CD/DVD tray openning.
2.Opening/Closing the Tray: To place/remove your laptop from the RAM tough tray you simply pull against the side of the tray (spring loaded) so the tray is open wide enough to place/remove your laptop.
3.Closing the Laptop: The rubber tip coated, side clamping arms on the RAM laptop tough tray can be used to griparoundthe side of the keyboard section of your laptop which will not allow the screen to be completely closed when in the tray. If you need to close your laptop when in the tray, you should set the side arms to gripagainstthe side of the keyboard section of your laptop.
4.Extra Mounts: There are pre-drilled holes on the side of the tray which allow an extra RAM mounting system to be connected.

(The arms shown below are included with the RAM-234-3 cradle, not the RAM-234-3K1, but the placement positions are the same.)
