This is an assortment of used but tested and verified 2.5\" and 3.5\" hard drive mechanisms. The definition of \"tested and verified\" is:

• For SATA drives, the drive was connected to a desktop Windows PC via an internal SATA port. The PC was then powered up and the BIOS recognized the hard drive and reported no errors. The drive itself exhibited no issues (e.g., it spins up, no clicking or other unusual noises).
• For PATA drives, the drive was connected to a desktop Windows PC via a USB-to-IDE adapter. The PC was then able to recognize the hard drive and reported no errors. The drive itself exhibited no issues (e.g., it spins up, no clicking or other unusual noises).
• The drive\'s partition map was wiped using the command prompt, diskpart, and the CLEAN command.
• For SATA drives, a SMART Test and a Short Drive Self Test was successfully performed on the drive using Seagate\'s SeaTools software.
• For PATA drives, a Generic Short Drive Test was successfully performed on the drive using Seagate\'s SeaTools software.
• The drive was then zero\'d out (\"long formatted\") and a new volume was successfully created and mounted on the PC.

Only the drives that passed all of the above tests are considered \"tested and verified\" and all of the drives in this listing passed those tests.
