This is an Atari 520ST computer I got from a friend a few years back. My intention was to remove the accelerator and use it in another Atari ST, but because of the mass of wires is uses (and no docs), I decided to avoid desoldering the accelerator from this machine and have decided to sell the ST for what I paid originally with the accelerator still installed.

The accelerator is the CMI Processor accelerator which drives a 68000 at 16Mhz and adds (I think) aBlitterand a 68881 math co-processor. It also apparently patches the Atari\'s ROMs as I can see evidence of this and online the reviews mention this is needed to realize any speed benefit. Speaking of speed benefits, I have no idea how to test this card\'s acceleration, though a toggle switch in the back is clearly meant to control it. My experience with a similar processor accelerator for the Amiga is that it does not give a very significant speed boost.

The system seems to randomly crash or hang sometimes at power-on and I lack the experience with Ataris to troubleshoot it (it may just be oxidation as it happened less and less as I used it), so I\'m selling for less than I paid in hopes somebody can use its components or diagnose it.

Comes with a home-made PSU that lacks –12v power, which I think means that the serial port on the back cannot be used.

Owing to the fact that this is an Atari 520ST, there is no floppy disk drive and also no modulator (meaning the only video output is from the monitor port on the back)

This Atari is early enough that I suspect it may not originally have has TOS in ROM, but it does have TOS 1.0 in ROMs now.

Overall condition is quite nice, but may have a problem booting occasionally as it\'s precariously wired.
